Dear Family and Friends,
This was an interesting week we did a lot of
biking. We had lots of meetings to attend also.
Tuesday we started out by doing service for a
member all the way out in Garden City. We help cleaned up her barn and
pulled some weeds from her rose garden. We also had interviews with
President and Sister Keyes. It was great to be able to sit down and talk with
him. While the missionaries were being interviewed we had district meeting
taught by our district leaders. While I was in with President Keyes he gave me
a priesthood blessing. It was a blessing to be able to get one from him. It was
also Elder Romny’s Birthday.
Wednesday we biked lots trying to find people
home. We were able to meet with Tim. He is a fire firefighter and we read a
chapter with him. We had family home evening with the Reeds in the ward. We
talk about how the world is changing and sin is becoming easier to find.
Thursday we did some service for the Smiths.
We cut their grass and moved some rock for them. We taught an investigator
named Bobbi about faith. We help teach the second new member lesson to
the Focucets family.
Friday the Aps came and spent the day with
us. Elder Alvey and I spent the day together. We tried most of the less
active families in the rosters. It was great to be able to work with the aps
and learn from them. We had dinner with the Kelleys and talked with them about
the scriptures. He is the seminary teacher for the area. We also talked about
food storage and the importance of it and how to use/store it.
Saturday we helped Brother Whener move his
mom into a place just 5 houses down from us. She isn't a member so there might
be some hope in teaching her. We found a couple of people that accepted a
Book of Mormon. We had stake conference in the afternoon. Elder Ward from the
70 was here. We also had President and Sister Keyes attending the evening
meeting. President Spoke had all of us stand and recite our purpose and motto
and then later one thing we are thankful for that the members do for us. The
whole meeting was on how to support the missionaries.
Sunday was also stake conference. It was on
what we could do to strengthen our spiritual muscles and how to share the
gospel while we do it.
This week was a good week. I have noticed
that not as many people are open to us as in St. Joe. But also this is also a
smaller town. Riding bikes is fun but after a week you look forward to the car.
Thanks for all the letters and support.
Love you all,
Elder
Benjamin Allen
